DoTerra Giveaway

My oldest daughter had a horrible winter with allergies/croup/eczema/sneezing/running nose.  We did allergy testing, we put her on antihistamines, prednisolone, did breathing treatments…. NOTHING worked.  After yet another trip to the ER with our daughter unable to breathe I decided to do my research.  I came across DoTerra Essential Oils and I decided to further investigate.  I attended meetings and heard success story after success story.  Why not try it?  I ordered the Family Physicians Kit and a diffuser.  Best decision ever!  Within 24 hours the itching stopped, the sneezing stopped, no more runny nose, and she hasn’t had one episode of croup since we started!

I diffused Breathe into her room and I made an allergy roller bottle for her.  Equal parts Lavender, Peppermint, and Lemon that we put on the bottom of her feet.

Lavender, Peppermint, Wild Orange

Homemade Play Dough

1 c. flour
1/2 cup salt
1 T. cooking oil
1 T. cream of tartar
1 c. water

5 drops of Essential Oil

Food coloring of your choice.

Mix dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients and mix. Add to a pan (I just used a non-stick deep frying pan) and cook over medium-low heat. Stir constantly until dough forms into a ball and isn’t wet anymore. This took maybe 2 minutes?? It may sound like a pain in the butt but it was super easy. Take dough out after you have your ball (it will obviously be a little warm) and knead for a minute or two.

We will also be giving away a Mother’s Day Kit which includes:

My daughter, age 6, has sensory processing disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. We first noticed she had a nervous tic when she was four. She was licking her hand and rubbing it on her face. It eventually got so bad she was doing this over 30 times A MINUTE. Because of this, her face was chapped, and there was always the worry about her spreading germs/catching something from this behavior. We tried mittens, we tried redirection, we tried EVERYTHING. And then I had a friend recommend using some essential oils. I was skeptical. REALLY skeptical. How would rubbing some smelly stuff on my already sensitive child help? But the only other option we were seeing at that point was medication, which we wanted to avoid, so I said I’d try it.

She sent me some samples and gave me instructions on how to use them. Balance and Serenity blended on the base of her neck, basil over her kidneys, and Citrus Bliss over her heart, 2-6 times a day.

Within thirty minutes of application, we noticed a difference. She was already calmer. In two days, she’d nearly stopped the behavior entirely. By the end of the week, the licking was gone…unless she was in trouble. By the end of the month, it was completely gone. She was a calmer, happier child! Her eyes had stopped constantly darting around the room, her focus was better, and most of her SPD symptoms had lessened.

We’ve added Frankincense to her temples (studies are showing that it can have healing powers for neurological issues, like autism and spd) and that’s starting to look very promising as well. She even lets me know if I’ve missed giving her the “smells” (her names for them…basil is “spaghetti smell” for example) because she knows what a difference they make.

So if you’re skeptical, like I was, I really encourage you to give it a try.

I love all of them but lavender is my favorite! It has a calming effect and the smell is just so good!!

  40. Summer says:

Wild orange smells Amazing. I smelled it at my naturopath, but wasn’t able to purchase any oils that day.
