“There’s a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza……” Be prepared to have that tune (if you know it) in your head from this point forward. I’ve been singing it all day!
Yesterday we visited a local farm. In their corn pit they had several buckets with holes in them. Fun! As many of you have seen on our FACEBOOK PAGE, today (Oct 17, 2013) I posted a picture to show that we filled up our yearly seasonal CORN PIT (<—– click links for details). I decided to make buckets with holes so I gathered up some buckets we had from our summer strawberry picking, and a drill with a hole saw attachment.
NICE BIG HOLE!!
These were a huge hit and added such a fun element to the CORN PIT.
Two buckets are better than one!
He also noticed that when he pushed the bucket on it side – “it pooped”.
Soon after the corn pit play began, my son started to brainstorm ways to make one bucket stay in the air while using the other bucket to fill it. He asked me “Mommy, can you hang this up somehow?” and then I remembered – WE HAVE PULLEYS!! So, we tied a rope across the garage and hung one of our pulleys from it. He LOVED this and was in the corn put for over an hour playing with the buckets and pulley!
HAPPY FALL, Y’ALL!!
