Sticky Mask

My son has been creating masks for months now.  These were his first….

His mask is the green one, created by him for him (aside from attaching the yarn – I did that part per his request).  He later asked his father and I to make our own similar masks as he guided us through the process (the red and yellow masks).

He recently made another mask using the bag from our COFFEE SHOP play.  LOVE this one!!!

Its no secret we enjoy using contact paper – as seen in very old posts like THIS ONE and THIS ONE.  Its fun to be able to just smash something onto clear paper and have it stick.  So I thought it would be fun to set up an invitation to create a sticky mask – playing off of his interest.  He ended up helping me with the invitation.

MATERIALS:  contact paper, mirror, match stix, feathers, buttons, googlie eyes, yarn, and scissors

We cut out a circle of contact paper, cut out eyes, cut out a mouth, and used yarn to secure it around his head – STICKY SIDE OUT.  Its important to make sure your tongue is able to stick out of the mouth hole.  ;)

May the sticking begin.
