Thanks for all the ideas. I can’t wait to try some of these out! — Kelly

The one of the baby in the huge bowl of oatmeal made my day!
Rhonda Haggan says:
some great ideas- but a lot of these ideas need to be monitored for safety- choking hazards, food allergens etc. I work with a family day care system, and we would be cited for exposing the children to raw eggs (salmonella- we can’t even use egg cartons!), frozen carrot rounds and grapes, (choking hazard depending on the size)) strawberries if not already introduced to an infant (allergen) & water balloons (choking hazard)
Like I said, these ideas are very creative, but I think your readers need to be aware that they need to consider the child’s ages and abilities before introducing some of these ideas.
Kristi says:
I agree with you Rhonda! While these are fabulous ideas, I can not do any of the ones with food. My son has a condition known as Prader Willi Syndrome (PWS individuals always feel hungry, no matter how much they eat, and have no concept of what its like to be full). My sweet boy is only 2, but if he sees food or food wrappers for that matter, he will want to eat. We have to be very careful and not associate food with play

Great ideas!
My son (15 months) still puts everything in his mouth; is that ‘allowed’? How do you deal with that?

Love these! A couple of other ideas: spices where we set up a bunch of spice jars from the dollar store with measuring spoons, cups, and water. We also love birdseed bins! We once tried making playdoh, but four, water, and kool aid was more fun!

Awesome ideas thank you! Can’t wait to try the Dinosaur one, my boy will have such fun excavating the dinos out. You could do it with buried treasure as well with a pirate theme. Cheers, Julia
Juliana says:
I love these ideas… My question is: how do you handle kids of different ages? I have a 4 year old and 22 month old twins, and really I can’t imagine doing sensory activity with them! They just get on each other’s spaces or stick things in their mouth of each other’s mouths…

Some wonderful baby sensory ideas thanks for sharing! My two used to love anything to do with water and I wish I had discovered water beads alot earlier

E portarli gfuori a giocare con terra, fango, foglie, rametti, pietre…è ancora più piacevole e divertente. Provate. Emanuela
